Countrywide Falconry - August 2015

This was a Birthday present from Maggie and fortunately we were both able to take part. After a safety briefing and gauntlet fitting, we met some of the birds and were given an insight into how birds were weighed before being allowed to fly. This is to ensure that they have released a pellet and therefore will return for food when released in the wild.

We then walked around nearby fields whilst the falconers instructed us in how to release and call the birds using bait. We flew Harris Hawks, a Bengal Eagle Owl, a Snowy Owl and a Ferruginous Hawk. An excellent experience!
