Caterham F1 Factory Visit
The Lotus 7 Club was fortunate to be invited by Caterham to visit the F1 factory at Leafield in Oxfordshire
where Caterham had put together a package of refreshments, light lunch, guided tour and a souvenier/gift all for an amazing price of £35.
This was to take place on 19 July 2013 and was restricted to 100 memebers. Not surprisingly this 'sold out' within hours of going live on BlatChat.
We all arrived to a really good buffet lunch and were made to feel very welcome by Caterham. The tours were to be organised in groups of 20 after which we were invited to visit the
factory shop to purchase any merchandise we wanted at discounted prices for club members. On leaving for home we were presented with a Caterham F1 pullstring bag containing
a pen, F1 car USB stick and some drinks.
Quite a few of the Kent crew were in the last 2 groups so everyone waited for everyone and we decided that we would travel home to Kent across country and
stop for an pub meal for dinner so as to avoid the rush hour after leaving the factory around 5pm. After surviving the traffic around
Oxford we found a country pub had a great meal and then a wonderful blat back home. I finally arrived home around 11pm!!
