September 2005

"The World Cup of Motorsport - Fusing the passion and patriotism of a world cup with the high adrenalin thrills and spills of top-flight motor racing, A1 Grand Prix is a unique sporting phenomenon. With deliberately equalised state-of-the-art single-seater cars, the racing promises to be closer than anything seen before. More overtaking, more excitement, more exposure: A1 GP."

The aftermath of a collision between the Lebanese and Italian cars at Paddock Hill Bend which resulted in the Lebanese car barrel-rolling into the gravel and landing upside-down. The marshals, as ever, were very quick on the scene and after a few heart-stopping moments the Lebanese driver was pulled from the wreckage and eventually walked away to the medical car with a wave to the crowd.

Despite the fact that the Lebanese car barrel-rolled into the gravel, it is testament to the strength of the actual cars that drivers are able to walk away from such horrific-looking accidents.
